They had already guit fight before Wolf 359,asshat. Mars had 3 ships,not some massive armada. not to mention the mars defense ships are hopelessly out of range if the empire comes out of hyperdrive right next to earth. A star destroyer could vaporize the UFP headquarters in san francisco and be gone back into hyperspace before anyone in the UFP could do anything.
