By the way, the asteroid that clearly pulverized the ISD's tower in TESB was about 3/4 of the tower's height, but it wasn't going that fast.

Well, I'm certainly not going to argue that a shuttle would stand a chance in an impact against asteroids larger then itself.

 

And the facts remain, the ISDs went in because Vader ordered it, but they were all willing to leave as we can see in the communications with Vader.

 

Picard had the luxury of not going in.

 

 

 

And we've seen the NX go in asteroid fields where asteroids were bigger then itself, and moving.

 

We've seen the NX get hit by 40-50 Meter asteroids without a scratch.

yet the falcon did just fine in the asteroid field and it was larger than the shuttle.
