Tyralak 12,068 Posted April 26, 2010 A couple of weeks ago, I was thrilled that I won an ebay auction for a 250 GB Xbox 360 hard drive. Well, it crapped out on me today. I've emailed the company for a replacement, but it's still a hassle. Plus I've lost all my saved games. This isn't good.

WalksInDarkness 4 Posted April 26, 2010 Sorry to be another "I told you so" guy, but I did warn about it. Many of those eBay drives are simply non-M$ HDDs slapped into the old casing, and then "flashed" to mimic official hardware. Some people have had OK results, but just as many have had major problems. In all honesty you are better off finding a used 120g one somewhere...
Tyralak 12,068 Posted April 26, 2010 I actually didn't know any of this until after I paid for the drive and it was on it's way. The seller gives a 30 day warranty, and it's within the 30 days. Ebay and PayPal also have me covered if the seller flakes out. He had pretty good feedback though. We'll see how it goes.
Tyralak 12,068 Posted April 27, 2010 Well, looks like the seller is making good on his warranty. I just have to shit the drive back to China, and he'll send me a new one. I'll send it off tomorrow.
