Allrighty so lets get started with all these modifications shal we? The reputation system has gotten an overhaul. You will also now be able to see who gave you rep so you can plan your retaliation as need be. At the top you can click on Reputation History and it'll show you ALL the reputation given anywhere in the site.

 

 

 

No one has any special reputation powers. ALL users have to follow these standards. So yes, that means even moderators can't go overboard in reputation (Yes I thought of you raycav when I set all this up )

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There are 11 levels to reputations now. Each level you go up, the more you can rep (+ or -). Leading up to the grand daddy top level of them all, where you can REALLY start fucking with people. But I'll get into that in a moment These limits are per day.

 

 

 

Level 0 (where everyone right now is at) - 5 positive rep's, 5 negative.

 

Level 1 - 10 of each (Requires 20 rep)

 

Level 2 - 20 of each (Requires 40 rep)

 

Level 3 - 40 of each (Requires 60 rep)

 

Level 4 - 60 of each (Requires 80 rep)

 

Level 5 - 80 of each (Requires 100 Rep)

 

Level 6 - 100 of each (Requires 200 Rep)

 

Level 7 - 105 of each (Requires 300 Rep)

 

Level 8 - 110 of each (Requires 400 Rep)

 

Level 9 - 115 of each (Requires 800 Rep)

 

Level 10 - 120 of each (Requires 1200 Rep)

 

Please note the requirements are a rough estimate. I won't give out the exact numbers

 

 

 

You can, if you want spend all your points giving yourself positive ratings. However people will also see it and most likely try and stop you Now of course, this is only part 1.

 

 

 

Part 2 - New store system based on points.

 

Once you've hit level 2 of reputation you can then access the store. So at this point, besides admins, only 2 people can see it.. Once you do, you will find you are given points per threads started, per your replies, and per your reputation. Once in the store you will have options available to you to fuck with your enemies. Please note that when you get negative rep, you also lose points. So, yeah this is going to be lots of fun

 

 

 

As such, I should probably mention this - Please be aware that anything that violates the primary rules of this site (including pornographic images) will result in my foot going very far up your ass to the point you are so in the red in reputation you wont ever see the store again okie dokie?

 

 

 

Now other features may come in at a later time but (besides donating to users HAH yeah like anyone is going to do that on this site) here are the things that high level rep war vets can purchase -

 

 

 

Adjust member post count (be a dick and make them have less posts than they really do!)

 

Change Members Avatar

 

Change Members Signature

 

Change Members Title

 

(No I'm not adding the ability to change their display name that'd be just insane to deal with)

 

Ability to pin a topic

 

Ability to unpin a topic

 

Random point lottery

 

Random shop item

 

Steal Points

 

 

 

I won't say what levels these will all appear at as they are randomly scattered in the levels above 5. (You can access the store at 2, just cant do shit till 5 I'm a dick I know ) Each will cost xx amount of points and the only way to get said points is by posting (starting topics does win more btw), posting replies and by giving AND even taking reputation. (Giving rep and taking rep are much more lucrative )

 

 

 

Users that need to be moved to the next level will get added to that level shortly. Enjoy and have fun fucking with people

 

 

 

Users are updated around twice daily if need be to be moved up or down on the reputation levels.

Well, to be honest, I'm simply not going to be a big fan of any kind of system that rates your activity in anyway, though, I felt my foot creeping towards my mouth, for about half a second, when I saw the dollar amounts next to people's names. I thought a store could be a decent idea, then I saw this thread and changed my mind.

 

 

 

The idea of your system is, basically, that everyone posts and earns a good reputation, so that they can fuck with other people's reputation and points. You are, essentially, earning these points to keep other people from earning points or to make yourself earn more points. It almost seems pointless, especially when you consider the fact that this will inevitably piss someone off, because some people cannot handle other people fucking with them, and things could get bad.

 

 

 

I think I see what you are trying to do, and I suppose it isn't a horribleidea, but I don't think it will work the way it is set up. At this rate, no one will get to use the your store, because it is going to take a while to build a good rep.

Net worth has no real bearing on anything. It's just there for interesting information.

 

 

 

These were the default systems that were in there. It's mostly to fuck with people but as I listed, there are some that really have no bearing unless you just want to have fun with them like the pin topic. As for adding NEW ideas that aren't basically "fuck u" type systems, SURE! I'm working on one right now that allows you to post html in your posts so incase you want to embed flash etc you can easily do so (granted abuse will be delt with fast). I'll look into the ability to add a bigger avatar as well

 

 

 

Like I said, it's more about reputation than post counts. You gain like 1 point per post. So it's worthless. Reputation is where it counts. When you negatively rate someone they lose 50 points. HOWEVER the positive ratings make more than you lose, that's easily negated unless people hammer away at you. So while yes, posting adds points its no where near what you get from reputation. And no, unless a LOT of people hate you it's going to be difficult to fuck with you on a severe level just based on reputation.

 

 

 

People need to learn to lighten up. NONE of the purchasable are perm. Soneone changes your sig wah, or your avatar who cares? It's all in fun. Even the admins aren't protected from being attacked so if you want to hit me or ty with new avatars, sig's etc then go for it =P (however change my sig and i will kill you ><)

 

 

 

The pricing structure has been taken into consideration to make sure it's not as easy as it sounds to just start screwing with people. The cheapest thing adjusts post counts which is 400 points per use. The only two cheaper items are random points and steal points at 100 each use. The most expensive so far is pin/unpin topic at 800. However even if someone had a slew of points, they couldn't go trigger happy. Each item has limited stock and once sold they're done till they are restocked at least a week later. With the bigger stuff needing 2 weeks. So it is somewhat balanced. No one person can obliterate everyone not even if they had a ton of names repping them up. This was done for obvious reasons. To make sure no one can "take over" as it were.

 

 

 

I know not everyone is going to be a fan of this, which is why nothing that anyone can do is going to be 100% perm to the point the user is fucked. And adding in new things people can do to others or themselves to help is definitely doable. I am also going to be adding in a new option people can buy to protect them from everything

 

 

 

As for the limits per level of your ratings, that is listed above most people are too low they can only do 5 positive, 5 negatives per day. While that may seem low, if you just rep'd your own posts it'd take you 4 days to get to the next level. Assuming no one de rep'd you in the process. And obviously, as signs from the reputation history, not everyone just gives bad rep so it's easily possible to get up there. Two people are already in higher levels one being past level 5. The numbers can always be adjusted depending on feed back, it's not like it's hard coded or set in stone. So if other people feel they should be modified then no biggie

Just a note here. I won't be able to participate much in this until I get home this evening, but I would like everyone's input. I have already gotten PMs and even a phone call asking me about this system. They have ranged from requests for clarification to I'm taking my ball and going home. The latter really doesn't help things. As is quite apparent, we have a small but active user base. I have no interest in alienating any of you. If there is something you like or don't like about paul's proposal, please make it know and be specific. This is just an attempt to add some extra fun to the site. This was a surprise to me too. I still am not clear on all the details, however I make the final decisions so nothing will be set in stone until I say so. This place is here for fun, so we're just trying to find ways to make it more fun. All ideas are appreciated.

Since people are having a serious heart attack over this for whatever reason (Honestly people is it THAT hard to change your avatar/signature back if it gets changed? Cry harder please), there will be a new option added to those that don't want to play at all.

 

 

 

This new user group will stop people from doing anything against you. HOWEVER, it also disables your ability to give reputation. Why? Well duh. If you're not going to play then why should you be able to help others that are playing? This CANNOT be undone. So if you wish to go down this road than fine. Once it's set the only way for you to be able to play again would be to make a new account.
