A Technical Analysis of the Irken.

Given Prophet's obsession with Invader Zim, I thought I'd watch up on the show, both on YouTube and Nicktoons. The Irken are a LOT weaker then Prophet says.

In the Pilot Episode "The Nightmare Begins", the Irken arriving at the Planet Conventia are seen walking into a hall, where a robotic creature repeated "GALACTIC Conquest is Near!" That's right Prophet. GALACTIC. The Irken don't even control the entire galaxy, as opposed to the millions of galaxies you say they do. I know Allmighty Tallest Red said "Soon, all races of the Universe will serve the Irken Empire!", but that was very likely motivational propaganda. Also, the Tallests aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree. Tallest Red had to be corrected by Tallest Purple that the "large spaceship gang" was the Irken Armada. That's right. He didn't even recognize his own ARMADA.

 

 

 

While Prophet says that SIRs are all powerful, and uses GIR as an example. This should be discounted, as GIR is FAR from your average SIR. He was made from parts found in a trash can, with the Rule of Funny applied in heavy doses. Of course he wouldn't be standard.

 

 

 

The Massive has displayed a HUGE discrepancy in how much damage it can take. In one episode, it flies right through a star, only to take a MASSIVE (pun intended) beating when colliding with asteroids at most 100 km wide, judging by the fact that they hadn't been able to pull themselves into a spherical shape. So either the Massive has insane heat-resistance and pitiful kinetic resistance, or the Rule of Funny has to be applied here. I'll give it credit for being able to go through stars, but when it collides with run-of-the-mill asteroids the same size as it, it gets pummeled. More on this later...

One thing to point out, here. Galactic conquest is still a term that can be used, even when one already has control of many galaxies. It could simply be in reference to one specific galaxy.

True. It's just that even though this was Operation Impending Doom II, Operation Impending Doom I had been a complete failure, due to Zim trashing the Irken homeworld. This was the first time the Irken had really started to conquer ANYTHING. Skoodge was the first Invader to succeed in his mission.

Which is proven wrong by the way Irkens use planets at random, the map that shows multiple galaxies marked for invasion behind the Tallest in "The Nightmare Begins", and in "Backseat Drivers From Beyond The Stars" when Zim states the Tallest are closer than ever before... and Zim flys The Massive through multiple GALAXIES IN LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR. The bulk of evidence speaks for itself.

True. He would be Sub-Standard. Which is why we use him as the low end for what top of the line S.I.R Units can do.

Where do we see any damage at all from the asteroids? We see it fly through a planet and then a star (the only damage we ever see beyond that from the Resisty ship is from the star) and then through the asteroids which did zero damage.

 

 

 

Also please see "Battle of the Planets" where Mars flys through an asteroid field with large non-spherical asteroids that are not that much smaller. Later when it flys through the Armada we see that the ships it impacts are around 25% its size - the damn Shuvver Escort Firgates, easily 500 kilometers long from that scene.

No, (unless you are going to claim the Irkens didn't have an Empire before OID I)this was the Irkens first attempt at UNIVERSAL conquest, or at least the largest yet of their inter-multi-galactic ones.

And is it not possible that those galaxies were merely ones visible from the Empire? I mean, on our star charts, the Andromeda Galaxy and the Magellanic Clouds are included, simply because they're visible from Earth.

 

 

 

And due to Rule of Funny being so prevalent in the IZ universe, we might expect GIR to be SUPERIOR to a SIR. After all, a SIR's only function is to retrieve information.

How? I looked at the show and took the bulk of evidence to come to my conclusions (which I will admit I have taken a lot of and built off of what I found in old threads over at SB).

And yet in "Battle of the Planets" we can clearly see asteroids a large percentage the size of Mars, and later we see Mars ram ships in the Armada and their easily in the multi-hundred kilometers looking at how large they are next to it.

And why would they include target not meant for military conquest? We also clearly see the galaxies marked for invasion in form of large arrows going from Irk to those galaxies (like we do with the smaller marked planets on the map).

And we have no reason to believe that and every reason to believe he is sub-standard (at least when he's not in the competent mode). Everything Zim has is outdated and junk from what we know (outside of a few things that he got himself instead of the Tallest sending him a create of S.I.R Units that would blow him up).
