Have you even watched the show or even read the article in Memory Alpha? The Klingons were kicking ass and were about to completely take over the planet before the ceasefire was reinstated. The Feds on that planet only had their phasers and some hoppers but no heavy weapons. The Defiant arrived towards the end of the battle when the Klingons reinstated the ceasefire.

 

 

 

Starfleet had no heavy weapons on that planet. Their best hope was the Farragut but it was destroyed. Face it Jason, your "theories" suck ass. This is the same with "Yesterday's Enterprise".
