  1. Well, the Eastern Woodlands are a fertile region that's home to most of the farmland (though, so is the area around those two rivers in the Great Desert). The Harborlands are home to a lot of fishing, and are a center of trade, filled with port cities. The volcanic Firelands have a lot of mining, since the minerals are so close to the surface, while the volcanic ash from that region is also what helps make the Eastern Woodlands so fertile.
  2. Okay, while the whole world isn't mapped (at least, by me), here are the five major regions that most RPs will take place in (or at least visit) on the main continent. The Eastern Woodlands: The Harborlands: The Great Desert: The Northern Realm: The Firelands: I've deliberately left the maps otherwise blank, to allow the players to fill in the lore and nations of these regions. Oh, and one more important thing. This world is orbited by two moons. One which resembles our moon: And a second one which looks like Jupiter's moon Callisto:

    "Zero Hour" Orbital Bombardment

Then, we have this from TCW's "Downfall of a Droid", where AT-TEs pose a threat to Separatist capital ships:

    "Zero Hour" Orbital Bombardment

This COULD just be a low-end in terms of firepower (with the asteroid vaporization scene in TESB as a high-end), but it is consistent with the Imperial light cruiser's turbolaser fire shown in "Ghosts of Geonosis".
  5. Right. But you can have up to three colors at your disposal.
  6. For starters, if magic is used in an RP, it will follow the ASVS Base Magic System, also known as the Twelve Currents. What are the Twelve Currents? They are the twelve different "currents" of magic, each one a different color, and granting a different form of power, sort of like the Winds of Magic from Warhammer Fantasy, or the Five Powers from The Wheel of Time. These currents are as follows: Red - Fire Orange - The Body Yellow - Earth & Metals Green - Plant Life Blue - Sea & Storms Indigo - The Arcane Violet - The Mind Brown - Beasts Black - Shadows Grey - Death White - Light Colorless - Space-Time However, each player can only have control over three currents. And just because you have the Colorless current under your control, doesn't mean that you can go anywhere in the universe, or even have absolute control over all of space-time. Nor does it allow time travel. Don't even think about it.
  7. Well, yes, so long as they have access to that current of magic.
  8. Despite this being a G-Mod video, this does a good job of showing how the TR-116 worked in the show:
  9. Okay, this should be the final thread regarding the background of this setting. The weapons. They will be divided into two groups: Medieval and Advanced - the latter group only being allowed in RPs where the DM says they're allowed. The reason? Well, this IS a setting that has seen the collapse of a technological empire long ago, leaving only a few factories still capable of producing the high-tech stuff. So, for the most part, people make do with Medieval weapons. Now, let's begin. Medieval Weapons: Melee: Longsword Knightly Sword Zweihander Sabre Dao Jian Katana Wakizashi Bat'leth Claymore War Hammer Halberd Battle Axe Morning Star Glaive Naginata Ranged: Longbow Composite Bow Crossbow Arquebus Advanced Weapons: Melee: Lightsaber Psi Blade Warp Blade Energy Sword Power Sword Chainsword Tholian Crystalline Sword Ranged: Bolt Pistol Boltgun Laspistol Lasgun Rail Rifle Autogun Blaster Pistol Blaster Rifle Bowcaster Phaser Pistol Compression Phaser Pistol Phaser Rifle Compression Phaser Rifle TR-116 Rifle Disruptor Pistol Disruptor Rifle CRM 114 In addition, some weapons may be upgraded with certain gems, bestowing magical effects on them. These gems and their effects are: Ruby: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted ruby will deal Fire Damage alongside its normal damage. Sapphire: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted sapphire will deal Cold Damage alongside its normal damage. Topaz: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted topaz will deal Lightning Damage alongside its normal damage. Emerald: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted emerald will deal Poison Damage alongside its normal damage. Diamond: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted diamond will deal Holy Damage alongside its normal damage. Amethyst: A weapon enhanced with an enchanted amethyst will deal Arcane Damage alongside its normal damage.
  10. A red dwarf with not one, but seven Earth-sized planets, three of which orbit in the star's habitable zone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRAPPIST-1
  11. It's range is at least a kilometer. It should be able to be fired from the prone position. Even though both of the shooters in the episode it debuted it ("Field of Fire") were standing up, there was nothing to suggest that they couldn't fire it in the prone position. Here's a picture of Ezri Dax holding it. The rifle can be used by either right-handed or left-handed people, though. And the eyepiece goes over the eye on the same side as the hand that's holding the trigger (right-handed shooters put it over their right eye, left-handed shooters put it over their left eye).
  12. Sure. Oh, one more thing about the TR-116. The reason it's a sniper rifle is that it's almost pathetic without two bits: the eyepiece (which looks like a scouter from DragonBall Z), and the built-in micro-transporter, which teleports the bullet (which moves at sub-sonic speeds) to just in front of the target. The eyepiece allows the wearer to see through walls until they find their target, whereupon they pull the trigger, and the bullet, upon nearing the end of the barrel, is teleported to just in front of the target (while maintaining the speed it had before the teleport). It was pretty much MADE to be an assassination weapon/sniper rifle. And yes, this is canon in Star Trek, the weapon's franchise of origin.
  13. Okay. Been a while since we had one of these fights. So, the old ASVS nuisance (and when I say old, I mean "from the Usenet days" old) Transcend will do battle with the long-suffering Predacon, Waspinator. Each has been given a blaster rifle, just to make things interesting. So, my friends, I ask you. Who wins? Transcend - the guy who lost a fight to a Burger King trash can? Or Waspinator - the Transformer who had his ass handed to him by a pre-adolescent Australopithecus?
  14. No, creating an orb of light is very easy to do. It's creating a gamma ray burst that's hard to do.
  15. Basically, this is going to be the characters starting their service at the Winter Fortress (aside from mine, who's going to be getting everyone adjusted to life there), and the various trials and tribulations that we have to deal with.
  16. In which an Imperial light cruiser gets cut in half by.... sub-kiloton warheads.
  17. One other thing: The 11th spell in each "school" of magic is reserved only for high-level mages. As such, players are unlikely to be able to cast them until very late-game, assuming the DM allows them at all.

    The Portal Conflict.

Well, technically it's "Guy Fawkes" who it's a mask of. Other than that, nothing to really nitpick about. It looks good so far. The prologue reminds me of the pre-chapter quotes from fanfics like "Tiberium Wars", "A New Terror", and "The Tides of History".
  19. One more thing: The money used in this 'verse. To keep things simple, we'll just use coins made of four metals: Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The conversion rate goes like this: 10 Copper Coins = 1 Silver Coin. 10 Silver Coins = 1 Gold Coin. 10 Gold Coins = 1 Platinum Coin.
  20. Okay, this is the thread detailing the Base Universe for Roleplaying here at ASVS. Basically, here are the things about the setting you should know before you get started: Playable Races NPC Races Supernatural Baddies The Undead Weapons Magic Deities Locations And for now, this universe is set up and ready to go!
  21. Well, the way I envisioned the spell working was that it was similar to the Animagus wizards from Harry Potter. http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Animagus
