Remember that the UFP only has 150 member worlds not counting colonies. If each world has an average of 4.5 billion then the UFP would have a total population of 675 billion people. If at war time about 10% of the population were in the military service then they'd have a total of 67.5 billion in the armed services. Unless the UFP ramped up their starship production then they'll have not enough starships to ferry the troops plus equipment and attack vehicles. Just to mobilise 50% of the troops, you'd need over 6 million starships (that can carry 6,000 each). At most Starfleet would have maybe up to a billion. But you'll have to remember that in war, most of the casualties are civilians and not soldiers. 40 billion is less than 10% of the UFP's total population of it's member worlds. Also, remember during the Dominion war, Starfleet did not have billions of soldiers or else they'd literally be all over the place and in the case of the Defiant, starship crews would not have been reduced to being foot soldiers.

The Birds of Prey themselves should not have been a problem for the E-D in Yesterday's Enterprise or in the regular universe. The BoP are out-classed by the Galaxy Class starships. The only way they'd stand a chance if they attacked in a pack of several BoPs.

I didn't say I was glad to leave the country but glad the immigration process was over. Now that I'm here, this country or at least where I am sucks. Canadian centralized banking and the healthcare system is vastly superior to the U.S.. I can go to any bank in Canada and in a reasonable amount of time I can get Canadian currency converted into whatever foreign currency I want and vice versa with only a slight fee for the bank. Not so in the U.S. It is almost impossible to exchange foreign currency into U.S. dollars without them gouging you. I had a couple of checks totalled about $120 CAD but to convert it to U.S. currency, all that money would have been gobbled up in fees and there would still be outsanding fees for the converted money I wouldn't get. Banks here still use deposit\withdrawal slips! I'm shocked at the amount of information I can retrieve about people's personal lives through the internet that can't be done in Canada. I feel like I entered the Twilight Zone.
