What UFP strength effective come use resource. UFP replication photon torpedoes like no tomorrow long have raw resource is kind done in seconds. In Star Trek DS9 Valiant  talk hit the Jem harder warship with one photon toropode mean take out all target sensors. Defiant class warship fire something like 4 photon torpedoes and no talk try hit distance and fire four them at it each carry the same yield all sensors in them. Two possible even crew and entire death wish aiming to get themselves killed or each photon torpedoes  deliver 4 time the yield without target sensor in it . In more likey ISD withstand maybe 20 photon torpedoes with out target sensors. Shield work still need upgrade not give Star War Empire fighting chance. Since order for UFP take few if any loses.
