An artist and an engineer collaborate to create a great What if? for pre-TOS Trek
Tyralak replied to scvn2812's topic in The Nexus
That's a very cool site. It would stand to reason, that especially earlier vessels would have a lot of space dedicated to machinery. Now, it's important to remember, that Starfleet ships use Bussard Collectors to acquire fuel while traveling through space. This greatly cuts down on the amount of space required for fuel storage. Also, there was no Star Trek "reboot". -
Your router just needs to be reprogrammed in order to function as a short range radar

I've heard about this. It's really cool, and can be done with off the shelf components. Something I would actually like to develop, would be such a device to see within walls. It would make fishing cable in walls (especially exterior walls) much easier. No surprises with cross beams or futzing with studfinders. -
A little problem with Coruscant, and other city worlds.

Well, according to the Foundation series, Trantor got rid of it's waste heat by extending large radiators on the night side of the planet as it rotated. Not sure how effective that would actually be, but that's how they dealt with it in the books. -
Apparently AT&T supports the ponies too. The movement has infected Fortune 500 companies now!

I kind of miss the little guy. Any one seen him lately? I'd love to read his takes on Brian's videos.

As I'm making my way back through TNG, I just re-watched "Unnatural Selection" The Enterprise is trying to pin down the cause of a disease that seems to be causing rapid aging. They end up tracing it back to a genetic research lab "Darwin Station" where the scientists were attempting to genetically engineer a race of "perfect" humans. Sound a bit familiar? The only problem is, human genetic engineering has been catogorically banned since the mid 22nd century. Yet, the crew of the Enterprise barely bats an eyelid at this blatant disregard of a particularly vigorously enforced law. Any ideas on why? (Other than the obvious screw up by the writers.)

What's his malfunction?

No, no, no, no. It is certainly not the 'real' Trek. Its a paralell universe. Its happening simultaneously with TOS. Just like the mirror universe. ST XI Did not replace TOS. Its a separate timeline. Yes. Again, yes. That's actually always been Lucasfilm's policy. ST XI is *NOT* a 'reboot'. Its an alternate timeline. Its happening in paralell with the prime universe. A 'reboot' replaces an existing franchise. ST XI didnt replace anything. It added to it. Now, in the prime universe Romulus is destroyed and ambassador Spock has disappeared. Any new shows or movies set in the prime universe will reflect that. Spock is now living in the alternate universe.

Am I supposed to not be able to change my avatar?
Tyralak replied to scvn2812's topic in Main Engineering
Sorry about that. There was a setting I must have missed. You should be able to change it now. -
We just switched from IPB to Vbulliten. I'll check with my tech admin, Paul and see what can be done. I could add a mobile style, that might help.

A Disciple of Wong?

I'll tell you. It's amazing how much happier I've been since I started ignoring politics. It's like watching 40 drunk cats chase their tails for an hour. Mildly entertaining, but really frustrating to watch and a complete waste of time.

You have to either use tags or the button that looks like a film strip. -

Yep. I fixed it. -
ITT: We speculate the next technology Apple will claim to have invented so they can stifle competition. Considering this stunt they just pulled: Apple gets US Customs to block imports of competing product.

Unless I'm missing an obscure EU refererence, the Star Wars universe has a conspicuous lack of any sort of beaming technololgy. Not just human beaming technology, but beaming of any kind. I wonder what would account for the Wars universe to be so behind in this area of technology.

Wow. he's still at it?

Oh good lord. Phasers are NADION weapons, not graviton! This guy must be smoking the good shit.

Smileys still have to be worked on. -
Brian Young is doing a video commentary and case study on warp strafing. He currently is looking at Journey to Babel, Elaan of Troyus, and The Ultimate Computer. Anyone else know of any episodes which support the idea of warp strafing?

Are you totally deaf now, Enigma? Or just partially? If you like, I can try to transcribe it for you, if that will help.
-
Dunno. However, before Enigma claims that somehow in 80 years all the races in Trek somehow lost this ability, I'd like to mention how ridiculous that idea is.

Is it just me, or is Jason getting more and more perverted?
