  1. Wait a minute, RayCav, we know for a fact that the SW Galaxy hasn't been fully explored.

Who's to say there isn't a planet full of Force-Sensitive Zombies somewhere in the unexplored regions?

KJA could even write it with Karen Traviss to make sure it's interesting... laugh.gif

Don't even fucking joke about that. Well, not about them writing it, anyway. laugh.gif

  2. I could buy aruement if was not for the fact USS Enterpise D SAUCER SECTION has to have own shields. Forward shields down 58 percent does.

Okay, I need you to be a bit more clear on what you are trying to say. Are you trying to say that the damaging of the shields was due to splash damage from firing the amped up phaser blast? IIRC the shields were only at 58% because of the initial encounter with the Borg, in that episode, when the Borg completely shut down the shields. Giordi was just getting them back up, IIRC.

  3. It is also possible that and Cardassians and Romulans Star ships were using tricobalt devices instead Photon torpedoes in this design more planet attack. I also already said Galaxy class starship defector dish more power weapon anything Star Destroyer can give off, and have, as of yet, proven nothing and made myself look like an ass.

    Fixed.

  4. I was saying from 30,000km was suidice for USS Enterpise not 40,000. If heat will not do it what else could USS Enterpise D destory it.

I have issues with this. Where does the dialogue say that it would have been suicide at 30,000? We don't know at what distance the Enterprise would have been destroyed, it is never mentioned. We just know that it was safe at 40,000. Riker could have picked a distance just outside the danger zone, or one far outside of it, just to be safe. Stop picking random numbers. The yield is never going to be accurate that way.

Also, as Jason L. pointed out, heat isn't relevant, in this instance, and your baseline numbers from the nuclear bomb aren't accurate because this is a different kind of weapon. Just fucking give up.

  5. Well, you understanding that isn't very consistent with the other statements you've made in this thread.

Okay, you need to shut the fuck up.

He only said he understood why schools charged students for being thaught, not why their homecoming should be more about advertising then the students.

    Something which I agree with:

Homecoming for the students, and if the school feels so strongly about supporting the Sheriff's re-election, then they should organise an event just for that... huh.gif

While I'm glad you understand where I'm coming from, I should tell you that my previous post was more of a sarcastic "you really thought I didn't know that?" kind of thing than anything else. I was having a crabby day. I apologize.

  6. Well, if you're too dumb to look for it yourself, then why the hell should I find it for you? rolleyes.gif

By the way, I gave that information for "information's sake", I didn't know I was entering a world-altering debate... laugh.gif

Well, Rain Man (the original) could calculate the number of toothpicks on the floor at a glance, so these guys could have very well been super geniuses at probability calculations... wink.gif

Yeah, Idiot savants are awesome. I wanna be one.

  7. You shouldn't be bitter about the fact that people are paying to make your education better.

Funny thing, did you realize that school(of any kind or level) is the only instance in which people pay in order to do work, rather than the other way around?

  8. What? You don't like them making a profit? Or is it that they are doing it at the expense of the students?

Kind of the second part, but not entirely. Homecoming is supposed to be an event that celebrates the school and provides an opportunity for the students to get together to produce something meaningful, our parade is the largest student run activity in the nation, but the fact that they are making money from the students and using the parade to make money from advertisements for local businesses and provide a platforms sheriffs' and politicians' campaigns cheapens the whole thing for me. I don't know, I just don't think some things should be used to make a profit.

On a happier note, Mitch Albom, "Author of Tuesdays with Morrie", "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", and "Have a Little Faith"(all best sellers) spoke at the school tonight. He is still here at his book signing, which I desperately wanted to go to, but sadly sacrificed in favor of three papers that I have to write. My normal response to a speech of that caliber would be something similar to "fucking brilliant", but I'm not quite sure that fits.

I have to write two papers about Mitch Albom's speech, I'll prolly post one here. The man is amazing.
