Meh. It would be interesting to see how the federation reacts, after having accepted the borg into the Federation, when they try to assimilate federation enemies. Honestly, I doubt the Federation allows that. Which could lead to this new collective filing an official grievance against the Federation, for attempted Genocide, which I find to be quite the humorous possibility. Or this could lead to the collective backing the group that was anti-Federation. Something like that. Who knows?

Just found a detailed description of the difference between a Sith and a dark Jedi, as given by an Old Republic Jedi Master in one of the Darth Bane books. The Sith were Sworn enemies of the Jedi and the Republic. They sought to wipe us from exsistence; they sought to rule the galaxy..........A Dark Jedi, on the other hand, has much smaller ambitions. He-or she-thinks only of himself. He acts alone. The ultimate gaol is not galactic conquest, but personal wealth and importance......he revels in cruelty and selfishness. He preys upon the weak and vulnerable, spreading misery and suffering wherever he goes. Basically, the difference is the same as the difference between a real life villain and a comic book supervillain. There you have it. Sith are comic book supervillains. No wonder they are so fucking cool.

Enigma, how many times do you intend to change the parameters of this debate? Also, there is no evidence that a ship could not engage a tractor beam while in motion. Yes, they are almost always used while stationary, but the reason for that she be obvious. Easier to lock on to an object while stationary. Less to compensate for. There may be a smaller likelihood of achieving a lock, but I fail to see how it would be impossible to use while in motion.

You wanna know something crazy. So we made ourselves an official couple. We spent Valentine's day together and had an incredible time. That same day, I told her about my porn problem, and SHE DIDN'T CARE. Oh, and pretty much every woman I have ever talked to hates my hair. It is very long. Hangs passed my shoulders by a good 3 inches or so. She likes it. She was running her fingers through it all night. Oh, I really like this girl and it looks like things are going to work out, really, really well. So, I don't think I will be posting in this thread anymore. It has served its purpose.

So, a friend of mine is trying to set me up with his cousin. He has talked to her about me, and to me about her. We have only met each other online, and only spoke briefly then. He is trying to push it, hard, and has said that it's pretty much a lock for at least one date. All I have to do is ask. She is pretty attractive, and only 4 years older than me. All in all, not a bad prospect. The problem, you ask? I've never been on a date, and am actually pretty interested in her. I don't wanna blow it to pieces. I can't even go to lunch with a friend without the thing turning into a disaster. I went to hang out with MoJo(from SFJ)'s brother a couple weeks ago, and we are pretty good friends, and it was just horrible. I don't know how to act in public. I'm so uncomfortable. I just stutter and mumble and try to make myself look as small and helpless as possible. I can't help it. It is reflex at this point. This seems doomed to disaster. Especially when you consider what happened the last time someone flirted with me. It was this girl at my bank. She looked a couple years older than me and was pretty cute, for a taller girl.(she was just shy of 6' which I don't like. So if I thought she was cute with being taller than me.....) I stuttered horribly and pretty much sprinted out of the bank. I was just so nervous and uncomfortable. The point is, I am so worried about this blowing up in my face, that I am likely not even going to pursue it. And I know that is horribly unhealthy. So, I ask you to talk me up. Should I do this? Almost certainly. But.......How?
