Hay...my sauce is the most awesome of all sauce.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the phaser blast may not have been the cause. IIRC, The Enterprise's shields had been taken down in the initial encounter with the Borg in that episode, and Giordi was just now getting them back up, and was not capable of restoring them to full power. The 58% could be all that Giordi was able to restore. I would have to watch the episode again, but I am pretty sure about this.

I like earth science. It's pretty awesome. No math, see.

I post at SB.com. I joined in February of this year and have approximately 475 posts. I haven't been very active over there for a little while, however.

Umm, wimp? He beat Yoda, technically, at the very least it was a draw, and killed three other Jedi while putting up a decent fight against Windu. There are theories that he let Windu beat him, in order to help turn Anakin. Remember, he did nearly kill Luke in RotJ, and was the cause of Vader's death, the two most powerful Force users in the history of the entire Galaxy. Not a wimp, no. Anyway, I believe his method for gaining power was described at point, though I do not recall when, where, or how. Basically, that last sentence was irrelevant.

Have you ever talked to the average Hoosier Republican. They know nothing. Fucking nothing. They actually believed that Death Panels bullshit. I've also heard several, "Keep the government out of my Medicare"s here. I'll have to disagree with tyour opinion of the common people.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be effected. It just means that we do not how it would be effected.

Ummm....maybe I'm misinterpreting, but that says nothing about them being invincible, or impervious to storms of Force Energy. Sure, they are colossal in size, but so is a FLEET of warships.
-
Well, the Emperor can create Force Storms large enough to destroy entire battle fleets, in the EU, so I see little reason he couldn't defeat Cthulu. The massive Force Storm should do the trick, kill the Emperor, as well, though.

I have to leave and I am just posting this link in here so I can get back to this blog later. I have a math quiz to take. http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=36833913&blogId=512007063

A normal person can use one, but they have to be really fucking careful. One over swing and it is over. One other thing to consider is that in most lightsaber battles the Force user is relying on battle precog, quite heavily.

Even in those circumstances Vader could just launch him a good distance away using the Force, and get the fuck out. Not a victory, but at least it isn't a loss. Also, how resistant would Kahless be to a strong electrical charge? Would Force Lightning have any effect? Couple possibilities there. Also, since we are making assumptions that you yourself have said go against what is decided upon by the characters in the canon episodes, I reserve the right to use all Force Wank possible. Vader just stops his heart using the Force. Anakin could do it before he became Vader. (Star Wars NJO, Force Heretic III)

I vol-.... Uh, I pass.

Yeah, not much difference there. None whatsoever.

Both right, however, I would like to point to some proof that you can join in on the debate without doing any calculations. *points to self* Just can't start topics like this, and you must stay away from the hardcore number crunching threads. You have to debate canon and the validity of material as well evaluate competency of characters from and different battle tactics. Stuff like that. 'course everyone will always point and laugh at you if you try, but it's not all bad.

I hadn't visited the site on my home computer in about a month(I've been using school computers for this) and the cookies were still updated.

y-yyyes. But, would we even care about Vader if he didn't have the Force? No, probably not.

I'm permanently logged in on my home computer. I just don't wanna log in.

The medium isn't the issue, that's an absurd assumption. It's the careless way in which it is produced, along with the target audience. The target audience (children, thinking about 30+ year old college professors and scientists in the debate watching the show is hilarious)allows lazy editing and less than accurate firepower effects shown in the CGI battle sequences. Kids couldn't care less about the accuracy of the firepower, they watch it because it is a cartoon, not to decide if these ships could destroy the enterprise. The purpose of this show is to sell merchandise to children, so, yes, it is pretty ridiculous to seriously pick this show apart for the debate.

I...don't like to talk about it.

Um, I don't know what the fuck you've been smoking, but Clinton was a brilliant president. If you had been talking about Reagan, I might have bought into it.
