    Legos. On steroids. With stealthy exploding green penis monsters (Creepers) and skeletons and zombies and giant spiders that want to feast on you when night falls.

     

     

     

    The first step to surviving is by punching down trees with your bare fist, from there you craft a work bench and start crafting tools (axes, pickaxes, hoes etc.). Next you chop down more trees then starting mining stone and coal. If you do not have a shelter by nightfall either build a dirt tower or dig a hole to hide in during the night.

     

     

     

    For one interesting project done in Minecraft someone built a full size version of the IIRC original TOS era Enterprise.

    I saw videos of minecraft! I don't have the time to invest into it. It looks fun though!

    I can't believe you're writing about ST cherry picking when one of the worst offenders in that department, Mike Wong, gets thanks from Curtis Saxton, in the very book that "set" the supremacy of SW in the vs debate... rolleyes.gif

     

    one issue i have with mike wong's calculations is he assumes a 40 meter diameter asteroid where if you compare shots with the falcon and the tl. the rocks being destroyed look to be 1-2 meters in diameter at best. This inflates the numbers greatly.

    In no way, shape, or form does that match the observable evidence.

     

    Kinetic energy in terms of em radiation or light, is different then kinetic energy in terms of ballistic damage.

     

    when you increase the frequency of a carrier beam, you get it to to modulate on different levels. when you compare light to infrared and xrays, the only difference is the frequency. When you modulate the frequency of a laser style weapon, you can shift its; energy to a higher state. Same thing can be done with a lens and normal sunlight. If you ever used a magnifying glass to light a fire, this is the same thing that happens to phaser beams when they modulate the frequencies to a higher one. The same light can be used to burn. Hence it has higher kinetic energy.
