Secondly, while they're "unleashing everything", the Defiant will be fighting back, and hitting quite hard indeed, the "one shot one kill" kind of hard, so I don't see this going too well for the Y-Wings. I'm not even sure they'd be wishing for a second round. Thirdly, while the first attack may indeed be a surprise, the others won't, and the ship will be expecting it. But even a first, surprise attack would not necessarily do much damage. The Defiant's armor alone stood up to ST capital ship fire when her shields went down, and for quite some time. It would be exponential right?</div></div> when you refract it you also decrease the wavelength. if you just wanted to increase the frequency. frequency is speed of light divided by wavelength. the amount of ke is the frequency times the planck constant. http://en.wikipedia....Planck_constant so if you double the frequency you double the ke. The wavelength affects the momentum and intensity. so when they up the frequency they are also increasing its intensity, reducing wave length and etc. the effect can be seen if you take a magnifying glass and use sunlight to make things catch fire.

I have read it. the idea was to see what people think. for example phasers have a carrier beam frequency which they modulated to beat borg shields. But we are talking about weapons here, so what does it mean. When you increase the frequency of em radiation it gains kinetic energy. refracting light for instance modulates it, it will not only alter the frequency but the wave length. A diamond lense would shift red light to the uv range with both frequency and wavelength, increasing it;s ke in result. it is doubled.

He is like a cheap hooker, except no fun. lol. I did enjoy the books initially then I realized why... recycled dialogue which reminds you of the movies. I wish peter david wrote star wars books. I had the bsg connection as well, but if you notice. They all suddenly accelerate and shoot forward. The older ones had a flash and sound fx. This one reminds me more of a sonic boom.
