Certainly not the TV stuff from most races, the primordial battle crabs from some of the books were "wanked up" (look at me using de terminoligy ) to the point they could slice and dice planets, stranski says its canon but im not getting into a debate on this particular matter because every feeling i have about B5 is positive and one of real enjoyment. B5 was sci-fi that was less about blathering on about tech nobody understood anyway and more about developing the story and the characters, yea it was set in space and we had ships and scanners and battles ect but the tech was not what the story was essentially about so instead of taking the focus away from the story or like in some Trek BEING the focus (to the detriment of the story in a lot of cases) in Babylon 5 it supported the story without consuming it. 1. B5 2. DS9 3. Firefly 4. Dr Who (im a tom baker years brat he was cool but i like the new ones as well). 5. TOS Trek. 6. Space: Above and Beyond 7. Some Stargate. 8. Seaquest 9. Logans run the series (i loved it as a kid and managed to find a DL link for it). 10. nBSG The list is like i said subject to my mood for the first and second slots while from 3 onwards it is also a matter of mood. The list could also be longer and include some real freaky series like "Saphire and steel" and the original "Invaders" amoung many others but then i have well over 30 years of sci-fi watching to draw from.

I would say B5 is probably my favorite sci-fi overall due to the continuity of the main story through each of the seasons, DS9 comes in a close second and some times takes the number one slot depending on my mood.

When i did my HtH figuring in did not include the use of the pulse guns, my figuring assumed at that point they would be disabled and Tonys extra str would be balanced by the preds agility and blades. With the pulse guns in HtH i agree that tony wins quite easily.

"Photon banks" is just another name for the "photon launchers" they can be accessed through the "Torpedo bay" and the "Torpedo bay" is where the torpedoes on a starship are stored. From the 22nd to the 23rd century we have seen varying degrees of automation in regards to how torpedoes are loaded. E-A looked manual (ST-WOK when they fire out spock), also McCoy and Spock modified a torpedo inside the "Torpedo bay" in "the undiscovered country". The fact that it is reported that it is the "Photon banks" that are depleted and not the "Torpedo bay" would indicate that the "Photon banks" can hold a limited number of torpedoes and needs to be manually or automatically reloaded from the "Torpedo bay" periodically, considering the damage the ship had taken and its casualties it is not supprising that the "Photon banks" got depleated and they were not manually or automatically reloaded.

Maybe the "photon banks" that were depleted are like a clip or magazine that hold a certain quantity of torpedoes, they may need to be replenished or replaced from the armoury when they are empty.

I did think a bit about strength enhancements, obviously the suit gives tony a big strength boost and i agree it is much greater than a unboosted predators strength. But then i was only doing a Alien movie fest about a week ago and i remember in AVP requiem (damn does that blond have a sweet ass) the predator using his "Power Glove" and one punching his way up from a sewer through all the concrete and earth and through the road surface. I also considered that in close range combat that the Pred would have a variety of blades that would likely be capable of penetrating the armour if used with enough force. All in all i pretty much figured that at HtH range they would both have certain advantages in certain circumstances, so instead of going into each scenario i just called it even overall.

I enjoyed Brosnan's bond a lot he had the attitude down and he was also cold blooded enough when the situations required, as characterisations go i thought he portrayed a very good and enjoyable bond.....getting rid of some of the more stupid gadgets helped. You are right about Moore, while it was obvious Brosnan and Connery had mearly a veneer of the upper class british attitude covering a tough and harsh killer when they played their roles Moore did not have that. Moore was in reality a bit of a "foppish" dandy and did have a private school background so instead of looking like a rough and ready government killer posing as a well educated bit of a player he came off as a well educated bit of a player trying to look like a rough and ready government killer....and failed.

Stark. Armour. Full body coverage although its protection would be at best limited against the predators plasma thrower and perhaps even the predators blades. 6/10 Weaponry. Multiple types although the less powerful weapons are likely to be ineffective against the predators armour, however he has plenty of powerful weaponry. 8/10 Mobility/Agility. I would say considerably less agile than the predator overall but the ability to fly is helpful if he needs to put a bit of distance between them, so a indoor/underground fight could cause issues. 7/10 Other advantages/disadvantages. Id actually say the suits sensors cannot penetrate the cloak but the fact they can enhance and focus well visually means that Tony could see the Predators "shimmer" a lot easier and quicker than a normal human. If the armour is too damaged and needs to be abandoned Tony is toast. 5/10 Predator Armour. Predators have been seen to wear breast plates and obviously the helmet that can even resist the blood of a Alien somewhat, the armour has also easily protected the Predator against fire from assault weaponry. How well it will do against Starks more powerful weapons is unknown but i would call it even with the suit vs plasma caster to be fair. 6/10 Weapons The predator also has a huge array of weaponry from the plasma caster to bladed weapons that have been seen to cut through concrete and steel without pause. 8/10 Mobility/Agility. The Predator cannot fly like Tony but it is capable of jumping very high and is incredibly agile for its size, both Predator and Tony have a advantage in this regard depending on the theatre. 7/10 Other advantages/disadvantages. While i feel the cloak would be less effective than if it was used against a normal human without the suits enhancements the cloak is still a big advantage. Couple that with the predators helmets known ability to identify types of weapons and the Predators effectivness in combat while armed/armoured or unarmed/unarmoured id give the Predator the advantage here. 8/10 RESULT Iron man 26/40. Predator 29/40.

I can certainly understand that considering i have only been involved in it few a months and never took it seriously in the first place. It still suprises me when ppl become emotional on the subject to the point that they start screaming abuse though, i suppose its a consequense of the available anonymity that ppl will behave in ways that are not accepted in public.

Actually it seems that it is the prefered attitude of a rather unfortunatly large % of the posters i have seen to combine both attributes.

The predators cloak cannot even hide the predator properly from human vision and considering it is intended for hunting at visual range as a advanced form of camouflage it is very unlikely to be able to be capable of hiding a predator and all his equipment that requires energy to work from a tricorder scan. They even managed to track the pred while it was cloaked in the movie Predator 2 with contemporary technology so it would be no problem for trek scanning tech.

Naming what is pretty much a advanced naval ship The 'Invisible Hand' was either a joke or a terrible idea, if you do not know why ask a sailor what a "phantom flipper" is .

I enjoyed the episode but i did not "get" the combat at the end with the three K'Vort class battlecruisers. 1. They start of by firing a brace of photons. 2. Then they fanny about a lot without firing and get pummeled a lot. 3. Then picard says "continual fire all phasers" and kicks the shit out of one of the battle cruisers in just a second or two so it explodes. 4. Then again they stop firing and proceed to get the crap kicked out of them again until riker bites the big one and picard gets the chance to do his "that will be the day" line and jump over the console to go down firing. Now im no tactical expert but a lot more of point 1 & 3 and a lot less of point 2 would have probably killed all 3 klingon ships.
