  1. Did anyone play this game?

For the uninformed - in the game, you act as the captain of the Adaptive Cruiser Antaeus. The ship is outfitted with a magic nanotech factory that can build a tank in a few seconds.

The game is fun, because you can't just zerg rush the opponent - resources are often scarce and the number of vehicles you can field at a time is limited by your number of pilots (ten, at most). You can also control a vehicle by yourself, but I rarely did that. Each pilot acts differently in combat - Madsen, for example is a sniper and will focus solely on killing the target. And forget about evading. He's great with a laser cannon, tough.

There's a a dozen of vehicles along with weapons and devices you can outfit them with and each of your pilots is best at controlling one type of vehicle (helicopters for Ransom, tanks for Patton, utility vehicles for Korolev) and often has a favored weapon. A fun detail - if you put someone in a vehicle that doesn't fit his skill set, he'll complain ("Son, I drive tanks!")

The script was written by Warren Ellis. The plot is rather simple but I found it interesting, especially the trans-humanist and utopian parts of it. Additionally, the cut-scenes are narrated by Tom Baker, making them awesome.

The dialogues and comments your pilots make during the game are fun and give them a bit of personality.

The game is fun but not without flaws. First and foremost - there is no multi player mode (which could be potentially very interesting) and no single player modes besides the campaign - so, no skirmish.

I've heard some people complaining about unit AI, but IMO, it was decent, if requiring a little micro management.

Overall, a great game and I really don't understand why it didn't become popular.
