Fmylife is a collection of entirely fictional anecdotes passed off as real events. At least they can provide a few laughs. An example. Today, I had drunk sex with a girl that I barely know. I'm watching BoBW right now. They pitch it as using the deflector dish as a jerry-rigged phaser set to a high narrow band frequency in order to destroy the Borgs distribution power nodes. Geordi states that this would be greater then their phasers and photon torpedoes could ever provide. It's also made clear that such a setup takes a lot of modifications.

Post War by Tony Judt. The books subject matter is the story of Europe following the conclusion of WWII and follows things up till the fall of communism in the early 90s. I find it interesting in that the reader gets to know the history and events in countries I wouldn't normally bother to look up myself. Fairly good read so far.

Smart politician. Unfortunately the party he leads is primarily focused on representing the western provinces. They're pretty much a regional party like the Bloc but won't admit it. During his terms we've been running deficits after years of Liberal party surpluses. Part of the reason for the deficits are the tax cuts he's implemented. Tax cuts are an easy way to gain votes from retards but he's had to cut some government services as a result. The cuts that gained the most media exposure if I recall were to arts, theaters, and other cultural programs the government helps fund. He also defunded environmental goverment watchdog groups for ideological reasons I assume. Over the years we've also seen some deregulation, but no where near the level we've seen in the US. Overall I'm glad he's been tied down in a minority government so he can't pass whatever legislation the party desires without the other parties agreeing to it. My overall opinion of his leadership is slightly negative. However the party won't get my vote because they keep stuffing my fucking mailbox with party propaganda.

Source I have a basic rule that I won't bother buying a game system for more than $200, unfortunately it's the POS Wii. I bought one today anyway since the fiancee really liked playing Wii Boxing on the sports game. Plus Zellers has a deal on this week that if you buy an extra game with the system they'll knock off an extra $20. According to the guy in home electronics I managed to grab the last one out of ten they started the day with.

Just because I personally think it'll be hilarious to argue otherwise. If Q takes on human form when encountering a Jedi or Sith then he'll have the same reflexes as a human, as was evidenced in the DS9 episode where Sisko decks Q. The "super powers" in speed and reflexes granted by the force may allow Q's adversaries to get the drop on him.

Can you provide other examples of a widebeam setting being used? I only remember the one instance in Voyager. Edit: After thinking about it. During drills against a possible changeling intruder the crew had used the larger phaser rifles set to a widebeam in order to force the changelings out of their form. I'd still be interested in other examples though.

There were early rumors that the series would come to Xbox but they've faded away. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it released on Xbox later on down the road like the Grand Theft Auto series was. Games are never useful. You're lucky you didn't get GT4 then, I could never get into that one. It felt like some sort of racing RPG. Race>Level up with cash>Buy car>Upgrade car>Race>Repeat.

In Japan... Well at least with a Japanese release date we know it'll be released in other markets shortly after.

I'm tempted to dismiss it as simply another one note weapon we'll never see in use again. The problem with that though is it's a standard phaser from the late TNG era. I don't recall the lead-up to the scene off hand, but is it possible Tuvok had time to modify the phaser so he could take out the bridge crew quickly and easily with a wide beam?

I envision a never-ending battle of near misses and smokey special effects.
