  1. While I applaud Abrams for his fearlessness in tackling the Star Trek universe, I did notice that he chose to play it safe with young Spock. Particularly in the area of facial hair. Recall in "The Cage" the flash backs of young Spock had him sporting some remarkably voluminous eyebrows. Leading us to believe that either Vulcans eyebrows become smaller as they age, or he discovered tweezers only in his later years. This curiosity, along with the precedent of goatees=evil Vulcan (as set down in "Mirror Mirror")just makes me wonder if this issue of Vulcan facial hair will ever be explored as fully as it deserves to be.

  2. Why don't Geordi and Ro fall through the floor when they are phased? Did the phased cloak not affect the bottom of their shoes? If so why can they still pass through walls and bulkheads just fine?

  3. Down side is that they have an all new cast doing their voices.

It was a re-run of the 2 hour re-launch pilot for the move to comedy central. I didn't even notice that the voices were diff. I should pay more attention!

  4. That's what I kind of thought, but not wanting to dismiss things out of hand, I thought I would ask the opinion of those who can decipher the techno-jargon. Sometimes to disguise the lack of credibility they will deliberately complicate their explanations. That way the lay-people who are likely to give them money don't figure out it's a scam. When I first asked a question on the forum, the mod wrote me this very excited e-mail that I was just the sort of person they were looking for to promote their energy research. rolleyes.gif I found that suspicious, not to mention that the answer he gave me was very misleading. When I pointed that out they suddenly became very busy people.

  5. I wanted to get opinions from those of you that may have a background or interest in physics. I read about this and visited their forum. I asked a few questions and got very party line answers. When I pressed for more in depth explanations I was shut down by the moderator, apparently I was "harping" on issues that were already resolved (like water usage-where I live water is a contentious issue). dry.gif It led me to believe that they were selling something that didn't really exist. But I am the first to admit my ignorance of this subject and would love to hear from those of you that have more knowledge on it. I will include the link to their website. Thanks!

  6. That's weird, it seems like I watched them on the BBC a year or so ago when I was following it. Maybe it was syfy, I just could have sworn it was BBC. Oh well, sorry about that. blush.gif

  7. I haven't seen the new one yet either, but I read a review that it was too confusing. That person obviously hadn't seen the original, cause I thought that was kind of the point. tongue.gif

  8. The Syfy channel (I hate the new logo spelling) used to have them on their website, also the BBC website. I haven't followed it in about 2 seasons tho. I just run out of TV viewing time these days. I can't ever seem to follow more than 1 series at a time.
