Afishymeadow replied to Jason's topic in The Nexus
Is any of this gonna be on the test because I wasn't paying attention. -
Where in the wide wide world of sports has he been? I know he's recently moved down to Louisiana & has professorship at university there. Plus he's busy tending to his new congregation, & organizing the community. But the Spring 2010 semester hasn't started yet has it? And his main churchday just passed. Maybe Elgin's busy community organizing? Where he be?

How would they stack up vs each other? Pick the contests. IE: Hand to hand mano e mano combat, ship vs ship tactical contest, swordfight, light-sabre duel {between 2 non-Jedi non-Sith folks}, boxing match, wrestling contest, entc ent al.

My thoughts exactly! -
Happy to hear you're a mugen with a history, & a present, to back it up.

So much then for this scene at the end of STAR TREK XII where Khan says: "Harry Mudd. Ruler of Pacifica. Activate the machine."

I've read several reports around the web that Nolan won't have Robin & will not depict the Penguin because Penguin's "difficult to portray on-screen" as Nolan put it IIRC. But what if Nolan changes his mind? How do you think Nolan should or would depict the Penguin & Robin? Me? I'd rather not see another pitiful penguin freak-man like Louie DePalma's penguin. I'd like to see a Penguin that was a serious version of Burgess Meredith's iconic Penguin from the 60's Classic Batman camp series & movie. Penguin should be a slick, possibly mafiosi, gangster thug. Someone like Paul Castellano or James Burke {Jimmy Conway in "GoodFellas"}. It can be done. Robin? Same thing here. I'd like Nolan's Robin to be a serious version of Burt Ward's camp Robin. You should skip over, but briefly address Robin's origins with The Flying Graysons. Maybe via flashback or commentary. I assume most folks know Robin's real moniker is Dick Grayson yes? FYI, for those who don't know, The Penguins real name is Oswald Cobblepot.

Is he still around? He was quite a prominent prolific poster on the Ole ASVS, TrekWeb's old StarTrekBBS, LoNAF’s Wormhole, TK, TrekBBS's TNZ, WF's Red Room, TV’s Race & Politics, SB’s Non-SciFi Whining, SDN, TheForce.net plus a bevy of other b-boards before falling off the face of the Earth.

Who/what wins? Where does the brawl take place? What neutral icy world would make a good ring? PS: Oops! I put this on the wrong board. -
Jason is ASVS's TEH BABA.

When I was a youngins' I saw him flatten Rocky Balboa into little meatballs.

Dark Vader would get bitch slapped by teh Predator Jay.

Maybe for STAR TREK XII? Besides Burns, other directors outside the box would be good for Trek. IE: Scorsese, Nolan, Allen, Jackson, del Toro, Hughes, Fincher, Donner entc ent.

So? How do you rate, evaluate & review Commander-in-Chief #44? BHO's been President a year now. Now it's legitimate report card time people. Is O the Great Uniter? Or is Bam the Great Discombobulater? Will Barack be Earth's Surak? Or instead will Obama be Earth's Jar Jar? Is Bar the Honour of Harvard? Or is O the Pope of Podunk? Is Obamaphilia prudent? Or is Obamaphobia justified? Or is Bam somewhere in between all these extremes of judgment? What say you? Me? As Jesse would say, keep hope (& change) alive.

I don't & have never watched "Smallville". I'm utterly neutral towards it. It's Smallville, Iowa yes? I know some basics about "Smallville". Anyway, could a Trek version of Smallville work? Sub Clark Kent with Jim Kirk, Lana with Ruth & Lex Luthor with Harry Mudd. Keep in mind, I'm not sold on this idea & I came up with it.

You betcha!

Marvel's the biggest or 2nd biggest comic book corporation & you can't register on their b-board! WTF?!?! Their b-board registration screen must be busted. It doesn't work at all. Oh well! That's how the cookie crumbles. DC, on the other hand, I registered on beautifully about a month to a month & a half ago. I've yet to put up my first post on DC's b-boards. My bad!

Exactly. Before the Prequel Trilogy came out I wondered if Darth Vader had "exterminated" some Jedi the same way Anakin had been "killed" by him. Speculated some Jedi were converted into Sith by Vader. But as we saw in ROTS, Vader just kill killed murdered the Jedi. So much for my speculation.

1960's Batman: Simply awesome. Cool. groovy, hep & Herbert free. Julie Newmar was yummy WOW! back then. Especially as Catwoman. She was the prego Capellan in TOS's "Friday's Child". Cesar Romero, Victor Buono, Burgess Meredith were great. Frank Gorshin's Riddler is an icon. Gorshin was Beal in TOS's B&W faces episode {"LTBYLB"}. Batman (1989) - It was fun to see in the theater & is visually very interesting, & had great music (NOT that prince crap). Overall, I think I can only watch, and like, maybe 20 minutes of this movie now. The rest? Bahh! It does have some now iconic scenes. "The Simpsons" parodied the surgeon scene, remember? Batman Returns(1992) - I really don't like this movie at all. Dark, depressing, cold, "uncharismatic". The Penguin is NOT a freak in the comic books! WTF?!?! He's a gangster like Henry Hill & Boss Oxmyx. And then Burton shamelessly plagiarizes Adam West Batman with that plot. Huh?!?! MP's Catwoman WAS hot, & BR's only redeeming characteristic. BR was a bahh! humbug. Check please! Batman Forever (1995) - Enjoyable. Never saw the whole flick. Liked the change in tone from the first 2 flicks, especially BR. Batman & Robin (1997) - Lulz! A watchable bad flick from what I've seen of it. Never saw the whole movie. Batman Begins (2005) - Never seen it. But I hear it's good. The Dark Knight (2008) - Good. Very enjoyable. Liked it. Robin beckons at Nolan's doorbell yes? Dick Grayson is Spock's great-great.....great-great......great grandfather.

Which b-boards are y'all most active at & post on most?
Afishymeadow posted a topic in The Neutral Zone
I'm on here, WF & TK the most & post on most. After ASVS, WF & TK: I post intermittently on TV, TBM, SBBS, SB - then the AvP b-boards now & again; and, last, all the other b-boards I post on, once in a blue moon really. What about y'all?
