NASA puts the smackdown on 2012 hysterics.
classichummus replied to Tyralak's topic in Vulcan Science Academy
The sun's magnetic field is different than the whole sun flipping. If it happens every 11 years, why are you concerned? Did anything bad happen in 2001 when the magnetic field shifted? -
So, crashed my car last night, almost died.

Disclaimer: I expect you will all call me an idiot. A few weeks ago, while driving home from my girlfriends house at about 12 AM, I was texting on my phone to her and I almost hit a deer. Fucking thing was walking straight down the road. I slammed on my breaks and swerved (nobody on that road at midnight). That was a close one! I really need to quit texting while driving at night. Probably shouldn't text and drive period. -

Dear Paul, Sincerely, Hummus P.S. all of what you said is bullshit, if you disagree, link me bitch! I'd love to see where NASA says the sun will flip. Not like that would really do anything anyway. Don't feed into the bullshit hype. -
Hey, want to know something SUPER COOL? NEUTRONIUM DOES NOT EXIST!!! I WIN! YOU LOSE! END OF FUCKING STORY! Want to have some fun? If you think it exists, find it on the Periodic Table of Elements: http://www.bpc.edu/mathscience/chemistry/images/periodic_table_of_elements.jpg

What is your favorite video game and/or series? My friends laugh at me constantly over this, but my favorite game series has been the Tony Hawk games. It's mostly because I used to skate (sometimes still do) and I snowboard. I try and play like I would snowboard, so fuck you haters!!! It's all your own opinion. It doesn't matter if your favorite game is WoW, Fallout 3, Spyro the Dragon, or Team Fortress 2. It doesn't matter it's just your opinion. So what is it?

Stinson is super crowded in comparison to Limantour. There was hardly anybody around us. We went down pretty far to the left and found a nice sheltered area in the sand dunes. It was nice and peaceful!! There were hella sea lions and seals in the water out in front of us. We drew a heart in the sand with our feet then I drew a huge cock and balls in the sand next to the heart. It was pretty cool. We stayed to watch the sunset. It was beautiful!!! While we were walking into the sunset back to the car, I saw something on the shore. I ran up ahead to look at it, IT WAS A FUCKING DECAPITATED SEAL OR SEA LION HEAD!!!! I couldn't tell if it was seal or sea lion since the light wasn't great and it was obviously not very fresh. It looked really grey and wasn't bloody at all. I wanted to look at it more, but my gf wanted me to get away from it. I was interested in it for the scientific aspect. I wanted to study the anatomy of the neck and such, since I will probably never get a view like that again. God I'm such a fucking nerd!!!

<p class='citation'>Quote</p><div class="blockquote"><div class='quote'><p class='citation'>Quote</p><div class="blockquote"><div class='quote'>increase in frequency = increase in energy always. It's not a direct proportion is it? It would be exponential right?</div></div> when you refract it you also decrease the wavelength. if you just wanted to increase the frequency. frequency is speed of light divided by wavelength. the amount of ke is the frequency times the planck constant. http://en.wikipedia....Planck_constant so if you double the frequency you double the ke. The wavelength affects the momentum and intensity. so when they up the frequency they are also increasing its intensity, reducing wave length and etc. the effect can be seen if you take a magnifying glass and use sunlight to make things catch fire.</div></div> Thanks, that's really cool. <p class='citation'>Quote</p><div class="blockquote"><div class='quote'><p class='citation'>Quote</p><div class="blockquote"><div class='quote'>increase in frequency = increase in energy always.</div></div>mmmm...no.</div></div> Explain yourself!! That's what I was taught.

She will be here in about 30 minutes. I think we are going to go to the beach today. Not sure which one though. Haven't decided. I like Bolinas, but I think we are going to go somewhere less crowded, maybe Limantour. It is usually pretty quiet there.

That sucks. I really like the new driveway he put in a few years ago that is lined with roses. It is really pretty. the old one was shitty. My next door neighbor does all of the picture frames for Lucas. He is a friend of him. It's cool that we live in such a small community like this that everybody knows where George Lucas and Sean Penn live. Sean Penn is pretty cool, I've skateboarded with his son at one of the local parks. It was fun. He came out and watched us and laughed at my friend when he fell.

I know where George Lucas lives. I drive by his house nearly every day. It's pretty neat. I know exactly where Skywalker Ranch is too. Also his new location of ILM. If you Star Warriors want, I could take a pic of his place for you to gawk at. It's a really pretty old house. It looks like a fucking castle. He's also kind of a douche from what I'm told. I've never met him, but I know hella people who have and my friends are neighbors to him. My dad used to deliver pizza to him when he was young.

I'm good. I now have the house to myself for the next 3 days!!!! It's great!!!!! I do really like the 4 hummus platter at Trader Joe's. It is really good. The tomato basil is really good as is the garlic. Trader Joe's makes really good hummus.

<p class='citation'>Quote</p><div class="blockquote"><div class='quote'>To start the series, we shall start with frequency. Before we put up textbook definitions, please tell us what you think frequency is, how it would apply to different weapons, shields and defense mechanism. None combative examples like radio and music would also be valid for this example. Please feel free to give your honest opinion. I am no expert and do not claim to know everything. So when I give my opinion. If I am wrong I am wrong. That is the process in learning.</div></div> Frequency could be described as how many full cycles of movement for some object (be it a bullet from a machine gun, light wave, radio wave...) to move from 1 defined point to another defined point. That point can be either time or distance. When I think of frequency, I think of sinusoidal waves (sine and cosine, not as much the other trig functions) and how many periods cycle through in 360 degrees. I hope this makes sense. I'm really tired. I can clarify for anybody later...once I get sleep!!! It might not be for a few days though.
