When USS Enterpise D used phase cloak device and no one get killed. They used it for 5 seconds, and there was the very likely possibility they were going to de-cloak inside solid rock. Phase cloaking is still very much unstable prototype technology.
Also the UFP able repulcation cloaking device as least. Remember self repulcation mines that UFP used block Bajoring Worn-hole. It very likley they were using phase cloaking devices. No it fucking isn't. The words 'phase' and 'cloak' are never once used in the same sentence during their entire wormhole plan. Phase cloaking was still causing lethal fuckups years after the Dominon war. If they could quickly and cheaply manufacture phase cloaking technology by then, they would have won the war in a week.
-
Both experiments with phase cloaking have resulted in the horrible deaths of the crews of both ships it was installed in. To think they can mass manufacture it, let alone replicate it properly is retarded.

....What the fuck did any of that have to do with your claim about protomatter or geodesic folds? More importantly what the fuck does it have to do with anything anybody was discussing at all?
-
Even assuming they used that technology on a wider scale, and assuming they can do it over an indeterminate intergalactic distance, (and this is assuming quite a bit) they have to actually know where the fuck the Empire's critical worlds actually are. There's also the little snag that project Genesis was deemed a failure and cancelled. We don't actually know if they even have the technology. To think that they could suddenly resurrect it and then send it into mass production before the Empire puts a fleet of ISDs into orbit above Earth and demands their total surrender is moronic.

Just a rumor. I don't know if there's any truth to it though.

I really wish that thread wasn't locked. I would love to have ripped him a new asshole. We already did, though there's a part I,II,II, and IV if you're interested (although the 'discussion' is currently lightyears away from that).
-
Actually I heard there's talk of cannonizing it.

Yes, I noticed that. Actually, I noticed that most people come into discussion with pre-determined result, and use discussion only to push their views. Doing that, they dismiss arguments of other side without even thinking if these arguments are, actuall, correct. And that is probably most unnerving thing in whole discussion - even more so than occasional swearing and similar. Not to say that you're wrong, but this is particularly hilarious coming from you.

I don't even know what his hypothesis is. Something to do to with the Federation having a war with the Borg??
-
The GE would probably side with the Federation initially and would probably use the war as an excuse to assert control over the alpha quadrant. By the time the war ended, they'd likely be too entrenched in the Federation political system for the Federation to resist them.

How do you know it was 'those missiles'? 'Long range missiles' is a pretty fucking vague term, right up there with 'bomb' and 'bullet'.
-
Fascinating. Two weapons arrays!! I honestly wonder how the Cardassians manage to have any self respect, let alone the choking aura of of over-arrogance that they so carefully maintain when their main ship of the wall is a total piece of shit like that. Seriously, it's a wonder how their war with the Federation lasted for any meaningful length of time.

Fuck, the tyranid bioships would be eating the cube, never mind the critters.

This fuckwit sorta reminds me of darthy (aka marsh8472). Anybody remember the 'lasers are lasers' argument?

CBUB is okay if you're into comics, but they don't get much traffic either. SDN can be alright provided you steer clear of the assholes and don't get involved in any vs. that has starwars in it. Depending on your affiliation and tastes, SFJ could be alright, though I don't know tons about it.
But if it's high traffic sci-fi forums go I think SB is pretty much it.

Sweet jesus such a thing could only end in the apocalypse!

Fair enough.

Okay so it is the clip I was thinking of. In that case my previous point stands. 100MT can indeed still blow up clones in a 12km radius or so. I don't believe they're specifically mentioned as any sort of threat to warships.
Also, "I don't want to waste clones on frivolous adventures" coming from the guy who was going to march his troops into fucking nukes???
-
Which won't help them a lot sadly. Unless they can just keep continuously beaming each and every tyranid organism into space (which they have to keep doing while fighting the hivefleet itself mind you), they'll get eaten from the inside out.
-
Ah, I thought you were referring to that other one that mentioned 100mt long range missiles being used at one point (good lord the retardation that debate spawned on SB.....).
-
A cursory glance at some of his recent posts seem to confirm that.
-
Is is mentally handicapped then or something?
-
What the fuck is this supposed to show? All I see is a pansy starfleet officer not hitting it hard enough and then getting beaten down like a punk. To think they adapted is senselessly retarded, as the same stuff keeps happening to them later in the movie.
Why SW has no chance in hell vs ST...

Spare me. I wasn't the one coming down from on high to deliver a sermon on how biased everyone else is.
